Working toward a future where Main Streets are celebrated as powerful drivers of equitable economic development, cultural vitality, and community resilience.

Strategic Activities

  • Outdoor concert or festival at dusk with a large crowd dancing and enjoying music, stage with band playing, string lights overhead, tents, trees, and buildings in the background.

    Advocacy

We make sure the voices of New Mexico’s MainStreet communities are heard by decision-makers. Our work includes sharing real stories and solid research, showing how policies affect everyday people, and helping communities understand and engage with the process. By connecting local experience with state and federal policy, we open doors for action and resources that support thriving, vibrant places.

  • Vintage cars parked along a sidewalk with string lights overhead, a man walking a dog, and trees with autumn leaves during early evening.

    Education

We turn complex policy planning into plain language. Through tools, trainings, and office hours, we show communities how to advocate at the Roundhouse and how to track what’s happening locally—with templates and checklists they can use right away.

  • A building with a southwestern adobe style exterior, featuring colorful signs that read 'Explore, Create, Play, Toys'. There is a blue door, pink and purple flowers in a wooden cart, and an outdoor bulletin board. The scene is sunny with a clear sky.

    Research

We gather and translate data into clear takeaways that support projects, grants, and advocacy meetings. Comparative snapshots, case studies, quick policy briefs, and maps help communities make smart choices and learn from each other.

  • Children and adults gathered around a table outdoors, engaging in a science activity or craft project with various supplies and containers, with trees and cloudy sky in the background.

    Network Benefits

We are exploring ways to broker cost-saving, shared services for member organizations—like access to health coverage and retirement options—and connect them to back-office support (HR and accounting). The goal is simple: more time and dollars for MainStreet work.
